Jumpstarting '42 tools' .....
......... 42 tools that are the answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything.
Why am I starting this project:
- get familiar with AI assisted coding, basically professionalizing my previous vibe coding attempts (where I could build someting in 3 prompts and then complete destroy it with the 4th)
- translate ideas to real implementations. My brain sometimes produces multiple ideas which I then tend to forget after a couple of days. In this repo, I will create a folder and a requirements.md to dump my idea
- use Eu tech/open source tech -> using the European Alternatives site as guidance
- Mistral Vibe & Chat for my agentic coding
- Codeberg for the git repo hosting
- Uberspace for some hosting, but will certainly look at other parties
- Python for coding, but will do some other things
- Hardware: I am using a MacBook Pro and a Microsoft Surface tablet. Not really EU. I have an old laptop that I wil be using which is running on Ubuntu.
Progress will be visible here: https://codeberg.org/johanvdk/42tools and I will write stories on this blog. Every now and then combined with stories about Snowflake. Yes yes, US tech, but I make a living with that now 😄. And will publish about FinOps. Related to everything I do.
And why is 42 referenced ...... just because.
