Using Mistral Vibe

Why Mistral ? It is EU based (French). Looks promising and they have collected some money for further expansion. ASML is one of the backers. I also use their chat extensively: https://chat.mistral.ai/chat.

From https://mistral.ai/, go to Mistral Studio https://console.mistral.ai/home and have a look at Mistral Vibe CLI:

Once installed (for no particular reason I have it running on a Microsoft Surface Tablet both natively and under WSL). go the setup mode:

vibe --setup:

Then just type vibe and you'll get the CLI:

Always prompt this as the first one:

via /config, some models can be chosen:

Quite limited, I am aware of that, will dive into the local option as well.

When you leave the session, you get a summary:

I'll keep you posted in future blogs about my happiness factor with Mistral Vibe. My alternatives so far: GitHub CoPilot. Haven't extensively used others.
